HEDGEHOG AND SQUIRREL ROOMS

AGES 0-18 MONTHS

Hedgehog and Squirrel Rooms each cater for nine babies between the ages of 0 – 18 months. We maintain a ratio of

1 adult to three children and have three members of staff based in each room.

The room leaders are qualified to level 3 in Children’s Care Learning and Development and have experience of working with our youngest of children.  The second staff member is qualified to level 2 in Children’s Care Learning and Development and is working towards her level 3 in childcare.  The third member of staff is an apprentice working towards her qualifications and gaining practical experience while working and learning. All are friendly, loving and nurturing and have a good understanding of the developing baby. The room is laid out to develop the children’s physical and social and emotional skills as they grow at this important stage.  The staff in this room have access to the milk kitchen for bottle and snack preparation and the children each have their own cots and high chairs for sleeping and meal times.
